Fantastic from start to finish! The jazz music
throughout was the best and Snoopy was
awesome! Can't wait to see it again next
year!

EXCELLENT
The show was amazing. Very entertaining. Just like the cartoon with a little extra. Great
laughs. Hope they come back every year. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT
Such a delight! True to the peanuts strip and characters, great music and performances. The actors keep in mind the characters are children, and come across as such, with the combination of wonder and wisdom that comes from the young. The music, since it's introduction in the 60's, has come to define Christmas for a generation. Snoopy is a hoot, as in the strip, a dog who thinks and acts as if he is human. My favorite part comes when they retell the Christmas story, a reminder of what we celebrate every year. Thank you all.

TERRIFIC MUSIC SOLID SHOW, BUT AWFUL CASTING
PROs: The set design was GORGEOUS! And the music was simply terrific! Shane Aaserud (bass) was absolutely flawless. Josh Roberts is someone to keep an eye on, too, as his drumming was perfect and his acting (as Pigpen) was great. But it was Kevin Dort, as Linus, whole stole the show. What a wonderful performance! Melissa Boatright had a great understated part as Patty. All the costumes were nicely done with the exception of the odd white pants of Snoopy. The pace of the play was quite good. It was entertaining and consistently funny throughout.
CONs: All other casting and acting was pretty bad. Charlie Brown is a short, pudgy, loveable bald kid. Jack Flatley - the actor playing Charlie - is a tall, strapping man with a head full of hair. Brianna Barnes, as Lucy, was irritating and unfunny. The Snoopy character was truly odd and very off-putting, though sporadically funny. Nico DiPrimio was an anonymous dancer who added nothing of value. And why was there a Hanukah song in this?

CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS AT THE BALBOA
This production was entertaining but we were very disappointed with both snoopy and Charlie Brown.
Every character had great hair costumes except Charlie Brown who had hair. This was a huge disconnect from our entire perception of the peanuts world. Snoopy was a strange performance too.
The end was a Christmas carol party we didn’t really enjoy. We found ourselves looking forward to the end so we could leave.

ROB
Tried to be just to “woke” . High school production , Charlie with hair?

MIXED REVIEW
First..It's wonderful to see anything that recognizes the religious connotation of Christmas. That's to be applauded. But, the show is almost painful to watch and there is not enough plot to warrant the ninety minute running time. There is too much music, and the character of Lucy is almost painful to listen to. I really wanted to like this play, but the kids and I were all bored.

WORST MUSICAL/PLAY WE HAVE EVER SEEN!
I really can’t believe that the Fox Theater would allow
such a terrible musical in their house. I have come to
expect great shows when going to the Fox, this was so
disappointing. The sets and costumes were very
cheaply made (I can’t believe that snoopy wasn’t in a
full headed costume) The first half was literally such
a snooze, that many of the adults fell asleep.

DISAPPOINTED
We have experienced better productions from high school performing arts programs. The casting of several characters seemed odd, and the costuming was poor. When I pointed out Charlie Brown to our 4 year old grandson, he said, “No, it’s not. Charlie Brown doesn’t have all that hair.” The trio of musicians were the highlight of the show for me but couldn’t save the show. The children around us seemed bored and restless. Very disappointed. Not worth the price of the tickets.

SADLY THIS MISSED THE MARK
For the price of the tickets, this was disappointing. The terrible costumes, lego-like hair pieces, over-dramatizing by the actors. I thought this would have live music but instead used recordings. The lack of scenery and props (other than Snoopy’s house which was quite good) was disappointing. They took a 25-minute long show and made it into an hour and fifteen minutes while keeping the dialogue word-for-word. The gap was filled in with bizarre and out of place dancing and running around in the stage chaotically. Snoopy was so underdressed, my child asked where he was (a simple woman in white pants, a white shirt, and a white ski cap with black ears sewn on). I think this would have been good for a grade-school play, great even. But for the Merriam theatre in Philadelphia, paying over $60 per ticket was a waste. I would have preferred to watch the DVD with hot apple cider from my home.

NOT PROFESSION AT ALL
Worst play I have ever been to. Poor lighting (once Linus had to stop and say "lights please), poor soundboard operation ( mics weren't turned on until charter had already started talking) , chirography seemed very strange, acting was average at best.

SHOW NEVER RESTARTED AFTER INTERMISSION
The show & theatre had started very late plus went to intermission and never returned! It was esp bad because you could see there were issues & the theatre didn’t update the audience. We were left there for almost an hour with young kids. Couldn’t get water or snacks without 30+ min waits. Once intermission started the show never restarted. It was outrageous. People started leaving bc when asked for info the show provided nothing. Total disappointment & super $$$$$. Disappointed kids

CHARLIE BROWN
Waste of Money. I was looking for real characters in costumes. You couldn't tell who was who except for Lucy and Charlie. Horrible Snoopy. I could go on and on. So disappointed. Should not have cost $50.00pp
