80TH YEARS STRONG TOUR AT THE ROSE IN PASADENA

Absolutely amazing concert. Gordon Lightfoot sounded as good, at 80, as he did at 40. He put on a great show, sang beautifully, and was very entertaining. I took my mom for her 91st birthday which was the same day as the concert, March 10, 2019, and she absolutely loved it. He sang his greatest songs such as Sundown, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, If You could Read my Mind. Gordon Lightfoot had some of his greatest hits while I was in high school, so it really took me back. My mom did not know much about his music, but she fell in love with him during this concert. My mom and I had the best time and I will always remember both Gordon Lightfoot's performance and my mom's 91st birthday. Thank you for a wonderful performance and a wonderful time with my mom.

GORDON LIGHTFOOT

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE PERFORMANCE

Of course he doesn't sound like he did 20 nor 30 years ago. He's had years and miles added on since then. I have friends & relatives who have passed and I would give anything to hear them sing just one more time, no matter their voice, it's them I love and now miss. As long as he wants to perform I want to hear him and all the history in the voice he has left.

GORDON LIGHTFOOT REOPENS MASSEY HALL

What a night to anticipate! the reopening of Toronto's premier concert venue, by one of its best-loved and most frequent performers! Looked forward to this for months: Gordie at Massey in November is a stirring recall of youth.. The standing applause was for Gordie's Life Achievement, not for this concert. His voice has lost its timbre, its resonance. He is frail and thin. More credit to him for going on the toad when many people his age are in care homes. But he is no longer the Gordie that we know. A day later, the strongest impression was the best most haunting version of "Edmund Fitzgerald" I ever heard. His backup group gave the best interpretation and was worth the whole evening. They did a great job all through the night. But it was sad, in the way of last things. Like the last formal dance at high school. Like the final visit to your parents' house after they pass away. Gordie should have retired while still on top. But even so, I would not have missed this concert.

DISAPPOINTING

While it was wonderful to see the legend in person, the performance was disappointing, Understandably, Lightfoot’s frailty and inability to sing with his old beautiful timbre and strength made the performance a sad and disappointing experience. We could barely hear him or understand what he was singing or saying. I don’t begrudge his desire to keep performing but the performance was definitely not worth the price of a ticket.

WORCESTER MASS REVIEW

Mixed emotion about seeing this legend. 1. The obvious - he’s 80+ And his abilities have diminished. 2. The crowd LOVED it and willed him on as we sang to our favorites. This man is loved/respected and while we can say that it would have been better to have seen him 20 years ago, I can say that the price of the ticket was a small price to pay to say thank you to this legend and have the opportunity to show our appreciation for a great career. Overall, if you go there in anticipation of hearing him like you did on vinyls 50 years ago - you will be disappointed. But if you are a TRUE fan don’t miss your chance to show appreciation.

GORDON LIGHTFOOT CALGARY CONCERT

Not only did we fear that Gordon Lightfoot might pass out onstage but of course his voice was for the most part gone. He shared that he had almost passed out that afternoon and he is frail to say the least. Not only is this a huge exploitation of someone who at one time was an extraordinary talent but very unfair to the people who paid to see a legend . Although many seemed to be happy just to be there in the room with him, it was very disappointing and quite frankly very sad to see him trying to perform in such weak health.

VERY DISAPPOINTING

I expected a fairly decent concert but was extremely disappointed seeing Gordon Lightfoot need oxygen on stage before he sang and when he did it was painful to listen to a voice that is no longer there. I really don't think it's fair to sell tickets to see him try to perform anymore at his age when his voice is no longer up to par.

DISAPPOINTING

Our daughters gave us the tickets to see Gordon Lightfoot in Winnipeg. We saw him in Winnipeg in the 70’s,what a rich velvety voice he had, at times on Monday,he was almost slurring his words and we couldn’t understand what he was saying or singing. The show was only 1 1/2 hours long, expensive for what we got,and probably a good thing because of the quality of the performance.Time to retire his guitar and ride into the sunset.

RIP GORDON LIGHTFOOT

Wife and I saw Lightfoot concert today (25 July 2022) at Capital One Hall in Virginia. We are huge fans, but walked out after five songs. Gordon could barely muster breath to speak yet alone sing. Tarnished our memories. Promoters are criminals for putting on this tour.

AVOID....SCAM HE DONE!!

Took wife two sons to this Nightmare, after ONE song we knew this was going to be painfull!!! 8 songs in we got up and left even before hearing the FAMOUS Edmond Fitzgerald song not wanting to further our bad taste of his decline! Theatre and promoter should be jailed for selling tickets to this LONG ago DONE has been....

DISAPPOINTING

My wife and I are big Gordon Lightfoot fans. Unfortunately he has lost his voice and therefore he should not perform any longer. I initially felt bad for Gordon but after 2 songs I was made that I paid money to see a legend willing to ruin his legacy.

1.0 star rating K Gibber from Winnipeg, Manitoba

DISAPPOINTING

I will not tarnish the man’s performance as he is truly a legend but turn my disappointment towards the promoters who put this tour together. Shame on you for putting this scam together and blemish the man’s career. Save your money and remember him for what he was.

BRUTAL - HE CAN NO LONGER SING

He is too old and sick to be performing. It was painstakingly agonizing to watch this legend barely be able to sing and talk. After paying $100 a ticket I felt as though we were scammed. Would have rather have not seen him as his legacy has now been tarnished.
